This painting bears no signature but has been stamped by the
art expert and auctionneer Catherine Charbonneaux who lives
and works in France. I recently had contact with her and
this is what she wrote:
Dear sir, dear madam,
Thank you for your message. It is me who has sold the studio of painter Garin.
This painting was in this auction and the stamp attests. But I have no
more information about the location or the year of realization.
Thank you for writing. Best regards Catherine Charbonneaux
Here you are able to study this particular stamp exclusively
made for the paintings coming out of Garins' atelier.
Work on cardboard. Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm.
J.J. GARJEANNE 1860 - 1930
Quite exclusive as this dutch painter is more known for his watercolours.
Moreover the dimensions of this work are rare: 110 - 85 cm.
Though watercolours faint during their lifetime due to the sunlight
this painting has kept the freshness of being made yesterday.
His works are often assumed to be dated but in this work
the subtlety of the colours is astonishing, almost like
the English painter William Blake but translated to the
Dutch winterlandscapes. Oil on canvas.
And of course one of his watercolours
in his immediately recognizable style.

A rather small work: Oil on panel.
And of course one of his watercolours
in his immediately recognizable style.
Victor Gaspar
A nice view that is called "Coin rustique a Baveno".
This village is situated at the south point of the Lago Maggiore.
At first sight it isn't evident that this is craftsmanship but
a more detailed inspection makes it obvious it in fact
is a well done work with the light the shadow parts
and the specific housecolours that are present there.
We found this label on the back and think it to be done
in the sixties or seventies, so a later work by this artist.
Besides sea- and landscapes, Gaspar did still lifes as well!
A simple signature but allways useful by determining his
genuine works. Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 25 / 33 cm.
