Gustaaf Halbart ( 1846 - 1913 )

This is the painting already cleaned from the black spray
marks as someone sprayed the list while the work was
mounted in it - a disgrace of course! You can only remove
those kind of paint with 90 % alcohol but you must be secure
not to damage  the paint itself. So some touch ups had to be
a second move on this painting.

Once properly cleaned the moment for the final touch up
is there. We were lucky to find this painting on the internet
with pictures so we knew how it had to be. The freshness
of this work simply is exciting! Halbert is thought to
be one of the forerunners of impressionism.

The painting with a new layer of protecting varnish.
Work on canvas layed on a wooden panel.
Dimensions: 25 / 28 cm.

The softer touch on this part of the painting.

The beautifully added play of the light in the darker parts

Hardly recognizable but a spot on signature of this artist.

Added information on the back of this Belgium painter.
