R. Heintz / J. Hendrickx / J.V. Hermans / Willem Heytman

Richard Heintz (1871 - 1929)

A view on the village of Nassogne where Heintz painted
several works. He is known as one of the most prolific
painters of the Arden landscapes (Belgium) After a journey
to Italy where he learned to add more light into his paintings
he made his most interesting works. This work is believed
to be before this period. But the mood of these villages is
already captured here and the way he paints his skies also.

The typical way of signing can be studied here:
"Rich Heintz"  And on the back of this painting
the title mostly can be found:  "Nassogne" This painter
even has a street there named after him! And he had a
girlfriend there. Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 50 / 65 cm.

Josephina Hendrickx

A surprise that only came after I sold this work: This painting was
thought to be done by the belgium painter Jos Hendrickx but
investigations done by the buyer proved otherwise. After having
seen the signatures on the works of Josephina Hendrickx I
only can confirm this. It was allready my impression that this
seascape was Zoutelande (The Netherlands) and living in this
region Josephina must have given us an impression of the
dunes there. Work on canvas. Dimensions: 50 / 105 cm.

Presented here is her signature on this work. As visitors may
know I allways do this for future investigations done by
others. So many helped me in an identical way!
Josephina Hendrickx was much rewarded for her flower still
lifes. These were painted in warm colours but besides that
she was an admirer of nature which can be observed by
making a close inspection of her work. Sometimes her
colours were fierce and at other times she used a more soft
colour approach.

J.V. Hermans

This belgium painter from Antwerp made this
beautiful painting. One of my favourites!
Dimensions: 35 - 55 cm

Willem Heytman (1950 -

A painting done by the dutch painter Willem Heytman who
really is able to do very different subjects. His Paris
streetscenes are very popular and in quality are comparable
to those of Edouard Cortez. Here he excells in a simple
Winter landscape and those of the spectators who are
able to trace the refinements in this painting must be
rewarded as the winter and it's temperatures and mood
are catched in the refined colours Heytman uses here.

His signature in fact is allways quite recognizable and though he
probably did the seascapes for economical reasons these
paintings are worth playing a more prominent role in the Dutch
temporarily art history. Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 50 / 70 cm.
