Jacques Jourdan / Pamela Kay / Renée Kempen

A more uncommon subject: a theatre scene.
This work is done by the french painter Jacques Jourdan
who died at the age of 38 during worldwar I.
We had this painting fully restored.
Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 50 - 80 cm

Pamela Kay ( 1939 -

Known for her still lifes with fruit and flowers, this painting
is a nice example of her work. In fresh colours she produces
these sort of scenes. She mentions the dutch, French and
Spanish masters of the 17th and 18th century but I would
add Paul Cezanne as well though her palette is more 21th
century. work on panel. dimensions: 25 / 31 cm

With vivid strokes of paint she reaches her goals
always applying her typical fresh color palette.

More than often she depicts some bread.

But signing her work with more than "PK" would be
advisable. This painting luckily had the information
on the back.

Renée Kempen (1914 -

In fact the second work we obtained in nice warm colors.
It depicts a town square in an impressionistic way but
with her specific own elements. Renee Kempen has
always been in high esteem among the art criticasters.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 40 / 50 cm.

This Belgium based paintress worked a lot in this specific style.
A  bit the way Jack Godderis  worked though the latter earned
more recognition. For us in this work she catches the atmosphere
of the entrance of the medium scaled villages in Belgium.
It really differs from the Dutch way of building and it allways
has something sloppy in it. Though not that valuable this
paintress in fact deserves more.
