J.W. v/d Heide (1878 - 1956)
A rather big work by this Dutch catalogued painter
(Pieter Scheen) but lived in Germany as well.
A lot of his works keep popping up in Germany
and the auction houses there. In a nice fluid style
and after clear observations with a lot of colors
he manages to capture the typical Dutch light and
landscape. Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 50 / 70 cm.
The signature which is certainly spot on. He lived for quite
a while in Munchen but kept painting cattle in the meadow.
And again a signature found on the back but now in
pencil. To determine the originality one should check
his drawings and/or watercolors.
And on this label stands: meadow near Abcoude
which is a village just south of Amsterdam.
Gustave Helinck (1884 - 1954)
An impressive autumn view on a lake surrounded
by trees and obviously mountains. Not a big work
but striking when one regards the way the light
has been done in this painting. Work on panel.
Dimensions: 31 / 37,5 cm.
And the signature of this Belgium artist that strangely
enough doesn't show a clear prefix "e" but that's the
way he signed his works.
Paul Hiroux
A french landscape painter.
And indeed there are animals on this work!
Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 60 - 90 cm.
Hobospeler
A very well done drawing of an unknown artist.
Presented here is a hobo player before an opened window.
The artist really catches the typical pose of this musician
while playing. Work on paper. Dimensions: 11 / 19 cm.
Leon Houyoux
The immediately attraction in this painting is the light
Leon Houyoux catches in this painting. It is called:
"Belle journée a L'Oree du Bois" Auderghem Foret.
The freshness of this work is remarkable as it dates
from 1938. Work on canvas. Dimensions: 40 /50 cm.
A rather strange signature as it seems to have been done
in two colors. We've determined that on some of his other
paintings as well. At first he signed with "Leon Houyoux"
the last years he lived in Auderghem and died there.
A street has been mentioned after him.
A small detail of this painting that in fact is a painting in
itself and betrays the special skills this painter has.
And the sky of course that hold a deep kind of blue
turning into a vague kind of purple in the distance.
