This rather curious painting we obtained after reading
some post that was present at the same auction as well.
The signature only says "Cephas "25 but the letters
made clear that it had to be the sculptor Cephas
Stauthamer. In the letters adressed to his nephew in
St. Niklaas he gave advice regarding the paintings
of his nephew. Although this work is rather dark
the approach isn't dated at all and the colours green,
red and blue are smashing! Oil on board.
Dated 18 april 1925 on the back. He was 26
years old then. Dimensions: 26 / 31 cm.
