Jan van der Linde / Lobel Riche / Victor Lommen / Alexandr Lopatkin / Euphrasie Loutchinsky / Emile Louys

Jan van der Linde

Jan van der Linde was a self taught Dutch painter that
made a lot of marines of the Zuiderzee. This must have been
made near Volendam as the sail carries the prefixes VD.

A simple but characteristic signature, mostly placed
in black paint. Work on Canvas. Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm.

Almery Lobel Riche

Almery Lobel Riche did a lot of etchings where
he exhibits the social life of the upper class in Paris.
He mostly did this in an Art nouveau way and
with great craftsmanship. Work on paper.

Victor Lommen

This Belgium artist hash't been mentioned in the Paul Piron.
However, another work from his hand was auctioned in
Antwerp for around 550 euro's. The figures in it are not
perfect but the mood of the scenery absolutely is there...

Presented here is his signature. Work on panel.

Alexandr Lopatkin

This time we are present with two pictures of this painting:
The first (here above) being sharper and more prolific
in order to observe the technique used more carefully.
Very thick layers of paint are used and it seems that
in his paint the entire color spectrum is present. This
technique in this case works very well for the reflections
in the water before the boats. It makes the surface glitter
the way it happens on a sunny day at low sun.
Work on painters panel. Dimensions 50 / 69,5 cm.

LOPATKIN, Alexandr Andreevich (1922-1997)
A popular artist especially for the Russian people,
honoured as a "people's painter'. He has had a big
influence on Russian culture. Lopatkins' work has
been presented on various exhibitions over the whole
world. In the Middle and Far East as well as in America
and even in South America work has been presented.
He was honored with a certificate on the occasion
of his 25th birthday at the and of WW II. He received
another reward in 1970 at the occasionof the 100th
birthday of Lenin. Without any doubt he was one
of the most important but surely the most popular
painter from the former Sovjet Union.

Written in cyrillic prefixes presented here his signature.

Alexandr Lopatkin must have been living in the
Netherlands for a while as he made several paintings

of the Dutch landscape. This work is dated 1971.

Euphrasie Loutchinsky

This Russian artist later lived and worked in Belgium.
Especially her girl portraits are done in a somewhat
sweet but immediately recognizable way. An example
can be seen here below. On this flower still life the
flowers are "moving" and do not appear to be "dead'
what gives this painting its' lively character to some extend.
In fact she must have been aware about the way Raoul
Dufy was working at that time. Work on canvas / wood
(maroufle) Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm.

In fact much too sweet but one way or another it
settles itself in your memory! These kind of paintings
can be found more in the eastern part of Europe.

The signature which is hardly readable but the elements in it
unmistakably can be judged as hers.

Emile Louys

This signature was difficult to determine.
Reading signatures sometimes is an art in itself!
A remarkable expressionistic painting regarding
the fact that this man was a truckdriver all his life.
Oil on board. Dimensions 35 / 35 cm.
