A H Bakker Korff / Kuwasseg (?) / Ludo Laagland / Dirk de Vries Lam / Gaby Landuyt / Henri Lebasque

Charles Eufrasie Kuwasseg

No. in fact this watercolour has no signature at all!
The technique of watercolouring was at a high level
during the nineteenth century.
We were catched by the oilpaintings of Kuwasseg and
this one has a bit the same atmosphere.
Dimensions: 25 - 35 cm.

Ludo Laagland

A rather big painting of Ludo Laagland (Belgium)
Laagland in fact was a poet as well. His works are in
the national Belgian collection but besides that in
Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Greece and the US
among others. Work on panel from which he used
the coarse side of the cardboard. Dimensions:
50 / 80 cm.

And his signature of course which absolutely is original.
He received some trainings for his painting but in fact
was an autodidact. He received a training as a teacher
but he was never actually working in that field.

Dirk de Vries Lam

A nice watercolour of Enkhuizen the place where
this artist produced some work around 1900.
Very well preserved and catchy regarding
the colours that are used in the northern part of
Holland. Work on paper. Dimensions: 30/40 cm.

Gaby Landuyt

A rather big oil painting with not that much paint on it
and done in a quick fluid style. But being from 1979 the
colors remain fresh to these days. Gaby Landuyt
worked with several Belgium painters but kept true
to her own style in which she excels to our believe.
Work on canvas. Dimensions: 65 / 80 cm.

Hardly recognizable on her works but the first prefix is
ment as a "G". Paul Piron includes her in his works
about the Belgium painters and moreover presents her
signature in his book that accompanies these works.

Henri Lebasque ( 1865 - 1937 )

Even in drawings and litho's a kind of joyfulness can be
experienced. Sometimes accurate in his way of drawing
as is the case here but sometimes very impressionistic.
No coincidence as Lebasque had friendship with Matisse
but also kept close contacts with Bonnat, Seurat, Signac
and Pissaro. There is a catalogue raisonne in which in
the second part the etchings and litho's known are
included. Mrs. Denise Bazetoux is responsible for
the catalogue. Work on paper. Dimensions: 18 / 23 cm.

Hardly readable but absolutely from his hand: The signature
that often can be found on his smaller works in the same
manner. Sometimes he signed with H. Lebasque.
