This work was made in 1771 and was called "A Farrier Shop"
It's title should be normally placed underneath the picture.
However, this is a "avant la lettre".
This mezzotint has been carefully restored and
backed with a thin layer of very strong Japanese
paper to preserve it for years and years to come.

Rene de Pillecijn
Theo Pomierski
Not a valuable piece or that special to the art world but
this painter catches the colours in a warm and friendly
way and thus touches the spectator. Oil on panel.
Dimensions 38 - 38 cm.
Hard to read but the signature says Th Pomierski.
And by taking a closer view it is interesting to see how
this painter builts up the overall view with strikes
and splashes that at first sight seems to have no
meaning. Signature placed in the lower right corner.
Jeanne Portenart
To be able to give away this power in a work requires
some skills. The light is there and the whole scenery
is vibrant. A rather small work but a lot of strength.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 16 / 21 cm.
Some details where the firm brushstrokes can
be studied.
The ground with the natural looking shadows.
And her signature of course as I always hope
I can be of help for someone else.
