Paul Ceulemans / Zuzana Chalupova / Victor Charreton

Paul Ceulemans is a Belgium painter who lived in Antwerp
and mostly did landscapes. Interiors happen to be more
scarce from his hand. Although being done in an
impressionistic style his attention to detail also is there.
The nice warm colours really are present in this work.
Work on panel. Dimensions: 25 / 32 cm.

Zuzana Chalupova (1925 - 2001)

Zuzana Chalupova only finished 5 grades of elementary school
In the 1950 She began making carvings, shirts and tapestries.
with traditional motifs. After earning some money from selling tapestries
she bought oil paint. and started painting on canvas. Her first painting
she did in 1964. She exhibited her paintings in the Museum of
Naive Arts in Svetozarevo. Her first solo exhibition was in 1968
in Dubrovnik were all the paintings were sold to foreign
collectors. She never had children of her own.

Many of her paintings depicts children and even adults
have childlike faces. Her painting Winter was printed by UNICEF
as a Christmas card program in two million copies

Presented here is a winter most likely situated in
Kovacica. Zuzana made this painting in 1983.
Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm.

Victor Charreton

A rather small watercolor, probably made for an
illustration of which the pencil lines detest. Most
likely Auvergne as the light is present this way in
winter, almost like a fairy tale!

To our believe this signature is spot on though it is
thought to be disputabel.
