Renaat Dehandschutter (1919 - 2007) / Lucien Delarue

This Belgium based artist hasn't been mentioned in the Paul Piron
which in fact is a disgrace! His qualities in expressing the moods
of the Kempen, a special part of Belgium, is obvious. In this
work he succeeds in playing with different shades of blue.
Oil on paper. Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm.

In this work which is totally different the artist in fact plays with
perspective in the way the Lathemse school did. It gives the
spectator the feeling that he is able to grab the whole scenery
in one hand. That is what in fact makes it quite intimate.
Oil on paper. Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm.

In the work here above the light plays the most important role.
Done in crayon especially the air deserves attention! Though
the subtle nuances in the color green adds to the light in this
piece as well! Work on paper. Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm.
This artist died in 2007 in Wilrijk. The graveyard in Berchem
was his last place and now in this blog of course.

Lucien Delarue

A nice watercolour by the celebrated artist Lucien Delarue.
Though most of his works are signed in paint this one has been
done with pencil which explains the other D.
The follow up of his signature indeed has resemblance.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 35 / 45 cm.

Another watercolour made by Lucien Delarue.
Well known for his Paris streetscenes, we didn't
know he did still lifes as well.
Work on paper. Dimensions 40 / 50 cm.
