A stunning piece of artwork from the Belgium still life painter Jean
or Jan Deckers. the signature is spot on but the quality of this work
makes it obvious to be an original work from his hand.
The craquelé in the left part is due to the use of bitumen.

Pierre Jean De Clercq ( 1892 - 1964 )
This Belgium based artist worked in an impressionistic style
and later went to France (Concarneau ) were he made several
works. His marines are regarded to be this best work.
Though the impressionistic style has been started a lot
earlier for its' age this work can be seen as fresh to these
days. Made in 1937. Oil on panel. In Concarneau.
