Pieter de Regt / Jean Remy / Tony Reniers / Paul Renouard / Robert

Pieter de Regt had a fascination for the typical dutch landscapes.
He allways kept his subjects very simple and can be considered
a follower of the The Hague School. He had lessons from
Anton Markus. The light in this works appears to be so simple
to catch but reflected in the different colours green Holland
is there! He often used canvas on board. Dimensions: 32 / 44 cm.

Probably this painter disliked signing his works as he often did
it afterwards and in fact in an unstable awkward way.

Jean Remy

This picture looks a bit dated but has the atmosphere
of what used to be the Paris streetlife.
Remy actually was a parisian art dealer.
Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 50 - 60 cm.

This will remain one of my favourites.
A picture of all times in his nice impressionistic style.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 50 - 70 cm.

Not all Renouard litho's are signed but this one is signed
in pencil. Renouard in fact is more known for his military
subjects and Paris views. That makes this one even more
special. Probably he made rough sketches in a hospital.

Heres a  lovely detail of this litho.

Presented here is the second litho we acquired.
Known for his parisian sights, this extraordinary
artist suggest a lot just with a few lines.

Tony Reniers ( 1923 - 2013 )

In his typical own impressionistic way Reniers did
this landscape. The brushstrokes are immediately
recognizable and the subtle light effects made us
buy this painting. Oil on board. Dimensions: 70 / 80.

The details betray a certain kind of craquele, probably
done by the artist himself as it seems to be part of the
painting as a whole.

Every detail seems to be a painting in itself. The color
accents are worth studying by clicking on this picture.

In this detail the brushstrokes are becoming obvious.

Maybe he did this painting "en plein air"  near his
home in Watermael - Bosvoorde, we still have to
investigate.

Robert

This painting has been framed with a lot of love and
in fact s a part of the painting as a whole. We think
the artist did the framing as well as he painted the
passe partout with gold paint in an irregular way.
But who is it? Robert ? Godart ? Bodart ?
