Vital van Puyenbroeck
A rather small work but I had my holidays there as a small
child so memories are certainly there! It is the area Autriche /
North Italy. Oil on canvas. Dimensions 25 / 35 cm.
Strangely enough the artist signed in pencil but pencil
markings can be traced all over the painting.
Cornelis Raaphorst
This work on wooden panel has been confusingly signed.
In fact, it is not possible to make a proper name of it but
in the way the prefixes have been done and of course the
scene depicted here suggestions are that it could be a
genuine Raaphorst. Maybe Raaphorst was in doubt
how to sign as it seems that two signatures have been
placed in the past over each other…..
Presented here is a signature the way it should have been.
And presented here is a genuine Raaphorst placed
on the wrapper of a catalogue from auction house
"De Eland" in Amsterdam. Nearly always present
are the folded carpets.
Rall
At first sight I already liked this painting. When it was put
up for auction I realized I nearly was the only one, why??
Done in thick layers of paint reminiscent of the way
John Bevort painted in the seventies and was quite
popular at that time. We can't find anything about this
painter but we presume it to be from German origin as
there is a whole family of artists with this name.

Joseph Ratinckx
Teis smaller work has been done by Joseph Ratinckx,
the father. It normally would have been the subject chosen
by his son who was a gifted painter as well. In an
impressionistic way and with the colors that do belong
to these flowers it is a piece of art to our belief
It has been sold to his grand daughter who lives
in France. Work on canvas. Dimensions: 24 / 32 cm.
William James Durant Ready
A nicely done oil painting by this English painter that
has been titled: "On the South Coast". Being more than
150 years old this painting is in a remarkable condition.
Oil on panel. Dimensions 36 / 40 cm.
We investigated this signature and William James
Durant Ready often signed with his monogram but
contrary to what has been written on the back we
think it to be: W.J.R. instead of W.F.R.
This painting has more than one element that at first is
catching the eye: The rough sea and the sailing boats
and the dark clouds in the background is one of them.
The beach with a lot of activity on it is another one.
And even the child the is spreading his arms in order
to make clear that their dog is in danger is a nice one.
