Presented here is a hand coloured litho made by the famous
Frenchman Honoré Daumier. For those who know him it
is known that he made a lot of caricatural scenes, sometimes
of politiques, daily life and his strength lies in the expression
of the characters in the faces presented. Made around 1838
in the serie "Caricaturana" a serie of 100 pieces.

After a quick cleaning process this oil painting appeared to be even
brighter than it already was. One way or another this painting
has more depth in reality than on a photo. When the varnish
hasn't aged or yellowed over time the dirt on it is easy to remove.
It is another problem to remove a varnish layer.
Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm.
Hardly readable but luckily enough the first three prefixes
are clear enough and the Art dictionary in Belgium has an
additional book with autographs of the more important
artists. That made our conclusion possible.

A rather surprising work of this painter, regarding the year in
which it has been made. The demand of the public was otherwise
in those times. Anyway, surprising colors in the first place.
As the signature already detests: Made in 1928.
Work on canvas. Dimensions: 60 / 70 cm.
Rodolphe De Buck
The subject is simply - The execution simply great!
Just a spot in a park somewhere with so many subtle
differences in the colour green.
There is a place to sit or even enjoy a lunch on a sunday
afternoon with the whole family. Somewhere in Belgium?
Mostly painters are signing their work in paint but
sometimes just scratching the signature in the mostly
still soft paint is a better remedy against falsifica-
tions. Work on board. Dimensions: 36 / 45 cm.
And the signature presented here: Rodolphe De Buck
though Raphael De Buck is better known, especially
for his woman portraits.
