Robert Wee
is one of the most well known seascape artists of the West Coast.
Though normally typical Americain to my eyes this work could
as well have been painted in the Netherlands.
The colours are quiet and still catching that
typical evening atmosphere.
A bit more depth could have been reached
when he painted the dunes at the sealine a bit more
vaguely but that was of course his choice.

J. van Wel
Is this an early work by Jean van Wel? There are
a lot of differences between this work and the more recent
works both in handling a subject as in signing the works.
Though the style presented here absolutely is
expressionism we probably will have to do more
investigations! Oil on panel. Dimensions: 41 / 51 cm.
The signature says: J. van Wel, but is it Jean van Wel?
